SOLAR PHONE SH007 by SHARP

Japanese telecom operator Kddi has introduced a handful of phones to its portfolio. We shall feature the coolest ones starting with the Sharp SH007 which is the successor to the SH002 phone. The clamshell has solar panels on the front flip which deliver juice to the phone, keep this baby in the sun for 10 minutes and you have enough power to talk for 3 hours. The SH007 is loaded with more sensors than a weather balloon, Sharp has managed to squeeze in a terrestrial magnetic sensor, atmospheric pressure sensor and sensors for temperature and altitude. Other features include GPS, 8 Megapixel camera with auto focus, 3.2 inch display and a SDHC card slot. The phone measures 110×50×16.2mm and weighs 134 grams.

El Sharp SH007 se une al selecto club de los móviles ecológicos que se valen de un sistema dual de recarga: por un lado, se abastece de la corriente eléctrica y, por otro, incorporan un pequeño panel solar con el que acumular energía procedente del astro rey para que no nos falte autonomía. En este caso, la relación carga-autonomía no está mal, aunque sigue siendo anecdótica y más complementaria que eficaz: por diez minutos de exposición solar, el Sharp SH007 ofrece dos minutos de conversación.

No es un celular táctil, como el Samsung Blue Earth, sino que este Sharp SH007 recurre a un diseño funcional. En este caso, de tipo clamshell o de concha, situando el panel solar donde tradicionalmente ubicamos el panel secundario en esta tipología de móviles. En el interior, el Sharp SH007 ofrece una pantalla de 3,2 pulgadas, bastante más amplia que lo que acostumbramos a ver en móviles de esta raza. Un punto que ha llamado poderosamente la atención es que el Sharp SH007, a pesar de ser un móvil ecológico, no ha prescindido de algunas prestaciones que podríamos atribuir a un móvil de gama alta.

El Sharp SH007 instala un sensor de ocho megapíxeles, un valor que sorprende enormemente considerando que, incluso los gama alta, llegan a tocar techo en una resolución de cámara de cinco megapíxeles. No obstante, habría que comprobar los resultados de sus imágenes para ver si realmente merece la pena el sensor.
